About

About PixArt Imaging

PixArt Imaging was established in 1998 and is headquartered in Hsinchu Science Park. The Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company built a leading position in optical mouse sensors and extended the same mixed-signal, imaging and system-integration capabilities into object-motion sensing, CMOS image sensors, touch control, health sensing and custom ASICs.

Its robotics relevance sits below the camera or complete perception system. PixArt devices can measure relative motion, track infrared objects or provide compact visual sensing for human-machine interfaces and embedded equipment. The PAJ7025R2, for example, combines a CMOS array and processor to track multiple infrared objects. Because customers integrate these ICs into modules and products, Korthos classifies PixArt as a sensing-chip supplier rather than a camera manufacturer or robot builder.
