Robots and Design was founded in South Korea in March 1999 and has developed more than 55 robot types through ODM, OEM and proprietary programmes. The company moved its headquarters to Yongin in 2022 and reports more than 20,000 robots manufactured across semiconductor, display, dental and life-sciences markets.
Its core robotics line covers atmospheric and vacuum wafer-transfer robots, pre-aligners, EFEM modules, SCARA and Cartesian systems used in tightly controlled manufacturing environments. Separate divisions build MAXX dental CAD/CAM equipment and automated cell-culture and laboratory systems. That breadth makes precision automation a material secondary context, but semiconductor robot design and manufacturing remain the strongest basis for classification. Robots and Design owns the mechanisms and equipment integration rather than acting only as a reseller of third-party arms.
