Serve's delivery robots continued from Postmates through an independent spinout

Serve began in 2017 as Postmates' internal robotics division and completed deliveries for Postmates before Uber acquired the parent company. In 2021 Uber contributed the division's intellectual property, patents, contracts, hardware and equipment to a newly independent Serve company in exchange for a minority interest.
