XACT Robotics shut down after regulatory clearance but before clearance translated into a sustainable commercial business
XACT Robotics obtained clearance for its image-guided needle-steering system and began sales, then closed in September 2023 and laid off its workforce. Reporting at the time said the company had failed to generate significant revenue despite its regulatory and technical milestones. Clearance established that the system could be marketed; it did not establish adoption, continuing support or company survival.
