About

About Advanced Navigation Subsonus

Subsonus integrates an eight-hydrophone ultra-short-baseline array, inertial navigation and an acoustic modem in a compact subsea unit. It localizes and communicates with AUVs, ROVs, divers and compatible beacons while performing navigation processing internally. Self-tuning sound-speed compensation, acoustic heading and a web interface support setup and monitoring to 995 metres of operating depth.

Position accuracy varies with range: ±100 mm at 5 metres, ±500 mm at 100 metres and ±5,000 mm at 1,000 metres. Acoustic heading is specified at ±0.3°, and output is available at up to 50 Hz from an internal 1,000 Hz navigation filter. Subsonus supports surface-vessel tracking, subsea vehicle navigation, diver localization and survey networks.
