Compact direct time-of-flight sensor with 64 detection zones, 940 nm emitter wavelength and I2C interface.
About
TMF8828 is an ams OSRAM direct time-of-flight sensor for multi-zone distance measurement in robots, appliances, access systems and compact electronic devices. Its integrated SPAD detector, time-to-digital converter, histogram processing and 940-nanometre VCSEL produce distance and confidence values without external depth processing.
The sensor supports 3-by-3, 4-by-4, 3-by-6 and 8-by-8 zone layouts, a field of view adjustable to 63 degrees and measurement from 10 to 5,000 millimetres at 30 hertz. On-chip sunlight rejection, cover-glass calibration and crosstalk compensation support installation behind protective optics, while an I2C interface connects the 2-by-4.6-by-1.4-millimetre module to a host controller.
TMF8828 is an ams OSRAM configurable 8x8 multi-zone direct time-of-flight sensor for compact depth, presence, and proximity sensing.
