C-Star is Oshen’s one-metre autonomous surface vessel for persistent ocean sensing. Wind propulsion and solar-powered electronics support multi-month missions, while satellite communications and edge processing return acoustic and metocean data from distributed fleets.
About
Oshen C-Star is a one-metre autonomous surface vessel for persistent ocean sensing. Wind propulsion and solar-powered electronics support missions lasting at least six months, while Iridium Short Burst Data provides satellite communication. Onboard edge processing reduces raw sensor output before transmission from remote waters.
Configurable acoustic and metocean payloads allow fleets of C-Stars to collect measurements across a distributed area. The small craft is designed to operate without a crewed support vessel continuously alongside it, although mission planning and fleet supervision remain shore-based. This record covers C-Star specifically and does not combine it with larger or earlier Oshen vehicle concepts.
