About

About Clearbot Alligator

Clearbot Alligator is an electric autonomous vessel designed for cutting and collecting dense water hyacinth and other invasive aquatic vegetation. A wide front collection system works through matted plants in lakes, ports and managed water bodies, while onboard systems record progress and biomass data for the operator.

The 6.2-metre vessel runs for four hours, travels at about two knots and has a three-kilometre operating range. Clearbot reports a cleaning rate near 90 square metres per hour and field deployments with Veolia in Hong Kong and operators in India. Alligator is the original weed-harvesting model and remains distinct from the newer Alligator Neo.
