In-Sight 3D-L4000 is Cognex's industrial laser-displacement smart camera for acquiring and analysing three-dimensional surface profiles. It combines laser triangulation, image capture and onboard vision processing in one sensor, reducing the need for a separate external processor in inline inspection cells.
The system applies Cognex vision tools to height maps for measurement, defect detection, part localisation and robot guidance. Its calibration and spreadsheet-style setup environment are designed for factory automation engineers building inspections around moving products and components. VisionPro integration also lets users combine the sensor's 3D data with wider machine-vision applications.
