DTX2

Deep Trekker introduced the DTX2 in 2015 as an offshore-rated extension of its portable ROV range. Four vectored thrusters combine with the company’s pitch mechanism to provide lateral, vertical and combined movement. The vehicle is rated to 305 metres and produces over 28 pounds of total thrust, with heading, depth and temperature sensors fitted across its packages.

Onboard rechargeable batteries keep power local to the vehicle while a tether carries communications to Deep Trekker’s handheld controller. Optional integrations included Tritech Micron and Teledyne BlueView sonar, USBL positioning, a Cygnus ultrasonic thickness gauge and a continuously rotating mechanical grabber. Those configurations supported inspection work in aquaculture, energy, military and infrastructure settings. DTX2 is a legacy model and is distinct from Deep Trekker’s later REVOLUTION, PIVOT, PHOTON and SPECTRA platforms.
