Quadroin AUV is EvoLogics' bionic autonomous underwater vehicle for high-resolution side-scan sonar and camera surveys with onboard object recognition and cooperative surface gateways.
About
EvoLogics Quadroin is a penguin-inspired autonomous underwater vehicle for side-scan sonar and camera surveys. The 1.12-metre vehicle weighs less than 25 kilograms, carries up to three kilograms of payload and is rated for 150-metre depth, speeds up to 10 knots and missions lasting up to 12 hours. Its hydrodynamic hull combines low-energy transit with manoeuvrability during close survey work.
Quadroin follows pre-programmed waypoint grids under supervised autonomy. A side-scan sonar, downward full-HD camera and onboard object-recognition module process submerged assets during the mission. Inertial dead reckoning is corrected through USBL or LBL fixes supplied by a buoy, Sonobot 5 or equipped support vessel. The acoustic link relays status and detections to shore and lets operators revise waypoints, interrupt a mission or trigger recovery, supporting standalone surveys and coordinated multi-vehicle operations.
