TINY 48/78 is EvoLogics' compact underwater acoustic modem for full-duplex communication and simultaneous USBL positioning in shallow-water AUV, ROV and marine-robot deployments.
About
EvoLogics TINY 48/78 is a compact underwater acoustic modem for shallow-water communication and positioning. Its S2C acoustic link operates across 48-78 kHz and reaches up to 31.2 kbit/s over as much as 700 m in optimal conditions. A horizontally omnidirectional beam suits links between AUVs, ROVs and instruments operating at similar depths.
Two or more 48/78 devices can perform USBL or hybrid positioning while transferring data, without switching modes. The reference Delrin build is rated to 200 m, while stainless-steel, titanium and OEM transducer configurations extend to 2,000 m. Ethernet or RS-232 connects the host, with RS-422 available on request. The model was sold as S2C T 48/78 before EvoLogics streamlined its naming in mid-2025; existing S2C 48/78 devices remain acoustically compatible.
