HR-Sherpa is Hyundai Rotem's evolving 6×6 electric unmanned ground-vehicle family for configurable defence, transport and emergency-response missions.
About
HR-Sherpa is Hyundai Rotem's multi-purpose 6×6 electric unmanned ground-vehicle family. Independent in-wheel motors and airless tyres support mobility, while remote control, route-point autonomy and leader-following modes cover supervised and autonomous movement. The base platform accepts mission equipment for transport, casualty evacuation, surveillance, reconnaissance, mine detection, charging support and remote-weapon configurations.
Hyundai Rotem has developed four HR-Sherpa generations over more than six years. Earlier prototypes were used in South Korean rapid-acquisition and military field trials, and the fourth-generation design was unveiled in 2024 after work with Hyundai Motor Group on autonomy, durability and vehicle engineering. A fire-suppression configuration built on HR-Sherpa was also demonstrated in 2024. The family therefore remains demonstrated, with configurations varying by customer and operating environment.
