Safety Inspection Robot is Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB's autonomous factory inspection platform, deployed at HMGICS to check equipment and flag anomalies.
About
Hyundai Motor Group's Safety Inspection Robot is an autonomous factory platform for checking line equipment and identifying abnormal conditions. Three vision cameras at upper, middle and lower heights inspect lamps, gauges, LEDs and valves, including equipment behind narrow fences. The same views detect floor hazards such as scattered bolts, nuts and liquid spills.
Lidar and depth cameras support indoor and outdoor obstacle avoidance, while four independent Plug and Drive modules provide omnidirectional movement around production equipment. A fleet-management system sends live inspection status and anomaly alerts to operators. The robot is in operation at Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore, where its telescoping camera extends the inspection viewpoint and its sensor packaging is designed to reduce blind spots.
