KUKA KR FORTEC ultra is a six-axis heavy-duty robot family spanning 300–800 kg payload configurations and 2,800–3,700 mm reaches.
About
KR FORTEC ultra is KUKA’s six-axis platform for large workpieces and high moments of inertia. The main standard lineup runs from two 480 kg arms through 560, 640 and 800 kg models, with reaches from 2,800 to 3,700 mm and ±0.08 mm pose repeatability. KUKA’s current product page also includes 300 kg machine-tooling configurations, which explains the broader 300–800 kg public range; those MT variants should not be conflated with the five-model standard brochure matrix.
The modular design supports payload and inertia upgrades, including high-inertia versions on the 560 and 640 kg models. Standard wrist protection is listed across IP65/IP67 areas, and Foundry variants address hotter, wetter or dirtier processes. Floor-mounted arms use the KR C5 controller family and target battery handling, casting, automotive body and other large-part workflows. KUKA emphasizes a compact footprint, reduced energy demand and maintenance based on inspection, lubrication and a 20,000-hour oil-change interval. Tool load, inertia, process forces and environmental package remain model-specific engineering constraints.
