Discovery Collector is Lely's commercial autonomous manure-collection robot family for closed and semi-closed dairy-barn floors. It vacuums manure into an onboard tank, follows configurable cleaning routes and dumps at a station without requiring floor cables or conventional scraper gutters.
About
Discovery Collector is Lely's vacuum-based manure robot family for dairy-barn walking floors. The robot vacuums slurry into an onboard tank and unloads it at a dumping point. Integrated sensors and route configuration let it work around cows, gates and milking areas without guidance cables or conventional scraper gutters, while water spraying helps leave the floor less slippery.
The current range includes Collector C1 and the newer C2. Lely says the C2 uses a long-life 24 V battery, wireless charging and a combined charging-and-dumping station, with up to 14 operating hours per day. That is a C2 configuration claim, not a guaranteed family-wide duty cycle. A sand-flush accessory extends C1 and C2 use to barns with sand bedding by flushing accumulated sand during dumping. Route coverage, cleaning frequency and required robot count depend on barn geometry, cow traffic and floor conditions.
