Hydronaut is Nauticus Robotics' optionally crewed autonomous surface vessel for offshore transport and subsea robot support.
About
Hydronaut is Nauticus Robotics' 18-metre autonomous surface vessel for transporting and supporting subsea robotic operations. It can sail under preset autonomous instructions or remote supervision from shore, with an optional crew configuration when a mission requires people aboard. The vessel has a 6.2-metre beam, a maximum displacement of 40 tonnes, an 18-knot service speed and a 21-knot sprint speed.
The platform is designed to move and deploy subsea payloads without a conventional large support vessel and full offshore crew. That operating model keeps more personnel on shore while providing a surface base for robotic inspection and intervention work. Hydronaut forms part of Nauticus's fleet architecture alongside the Aquanaut subsea robot and Olympic Arm manipulator, with launch, recovery, communications and offshore transport roles.
