Ouster OS1 Max is a 256-channel digital lidar with a 45-degree vertical field of view and 200-metre low-reflectivity range.
About
Ouster OS1 Max is the Rev 8 long-range member of the OS1 digital lidar family. It uses 256 vertical channels across a 45-degree field of view and produces up to 10.4 million points per second. Ouster specifies a 200-metre range on ten-percent-reflective targets and a maximum detection range of 500 metres, supporting perception at both close and extended distances.
The sensor combines range, signal, reflectivity and near-infrared measurements in a single stream and can generate native-colour point clouds through Ouster’s processing stack. Its mid-range field of view suits mobile robots, industrial vehicles, mapping systems and smart-infrastructure installations that need dense three-dimensional coverage. OS1 Max is the current exact Rev 8 configuration announced in May 2026 and should remain distinct from lower-channel OS1 variants and earlier hardware revisions.
