About

About MotionCam-3D L

MotionCam-3D L is the long-baseline model in Photoneo's original MotionCam-3D range, intended for larger objects and working volumes. Parallel Structured Light allows the camera to reconstruct geometry while a scene or object is moving, avoiding the static-scene restriction of conventional structured-light scanning. Its scan range spans 778–3,034 mm, with up to two million 3D points at 1680 × 1200 resolution.

The camera provides distinct operating modes: scanner mode prioritizes static-scene precision at up to 2 fps, while dynamic camera mode reaches 20 fps at 0.9 megapixels or 5 fps at two megapixels. It connects over Gigabit Ethernet and is powered by PoE or 24 V. Robot guidance, bin picking and inspection are integration workflows built on its depth, normals, texture and confidence outputs; grasp planning and robot motion remain functions of the connected vision and control software.
