About

About Dragon Runner 20

Dragon Runner 20 is QinetiQ's single-person-portable tracked robot for reconnaissance, security, inspection and explosive-device missions. The base vehicle weighs 9–11.8 kg depending on configuration and measures 890 × 400 × 540 mm. It can be hand carried into congested urban areas, sewers and drainpipes, then remotely driven at up to 6 km/h.

Four day-and-night or day cameras provide local situational awareness, with a quad-view controller and onboard microphone. Optional equipment includes a manipulator, disruptors, reconnaissance cameras, two-way audio, hazardous-material sensors and a fibre control tether. QinetiQ specifies 3–4 hours of mission-dependent endurance, a line-of-sight operating range beyond 650 m and IP65 environmental protection. The manipulator configuration lifts up to 4.5 kg, preserving a clear boundary between the DR-20 and the smaller Dragon Runner 10.
