Mark1 is Rugged Robotics’ autonomous construction-layout robot and the hardware core of its full-service layout offering. It converts coordinated BIM or CAD files into full-scale lines, symbols and text printed directly on slabs for multiple trades.
About
Mark1 is Rugged Robotics’ autonomous construction-layout robot for transferring coordinated digital models onto a jobsite floor. Its holonomic drive moves around openings and congested areas while a 5½-inch printhead lays down lines, curves, symbols and multi-line text. The system uses a network of passive targets for site positioning and is specified to reproduce layouts within one-eighth of an inch.
Rugged sells the workflow as a managed service: its team prepares BIM or CAD files, mobilises the robot and operator, establishes site control and hands the printed layout to trade crews. Mark1 has been used for drywall, MEP, specialty and equipment layouts. One customer used Mark1 repeatedly across more than 20 active warehouses by 2026.
