About

About Navsight Marine Apogee Grade

Navsight Marine Apogee Grade is SBG Systems’ modular motion and navigation package for hydrographic survey work in difficult GNSS conditions and deep water. The system combines an Apogee inertial measurement unit with a processing unit, antennas, cables and selectable GNSS inputs. Surface IP68 and 100-metre waterproof IMU enclosures support different vessel and installation layouts.

The processing unit fuses inertial and satellite data to output real-time position, attitude and heave for multibeam echosounders and other survey instruments. Real-time heave is specified to five centimetres, with delayed heave reaching two centimetres after near-real-time processing. Navsight can operate as an MRU, an INS with embedded GNSS or an INS using an external receiver, and Qinertia software supports post-processing of recorded missions.
