About LMS511

LMS511 is SICK’s weatherproof 2D LiDAR scanner for profile measurement and industrial perception. The pulsed time-of-flight sensor scans across 190 degrees and measures targets at up to 80 metres, with a 40-metre range stated for surfaces at 10 percent remission. Its IP67 enclosure and Class 1 laser rating support fixed installations in demanding facilities and outdoor industrial sites.

The scanner can feed Ethernet, digital and analogue interfaces for conveyor monitoring, volume measurement and machine control. SICK’s Bulkscan implementation uses the LMS511 to measure profiles and calculate volume, mass flow and throughput for conveyed material. The product is a fixed sensing component, so it does not receive a standalone physical-workflow capability mapping.
