R80D SkyRaider is an open-architecture vertical-takeoff drone designed for United States defense and federal operators. It carries multiple mission payloads with a combined capacity of up to 3.49 kilograms, bringing Group 2–3 payload capability to a man-portable VTOL footprint. A payload development kit supports integration of sensors and mission equipment beyond Teledyne FLIR's own StormCaster, delivery and tethered accessories.
RaiderOS provides the aircraft's control and cybersecurity layer, while onboard edge AI supports object detection and classification. The platform can perform semi-autonomous flight and operate in environments where GPS or communications are degraded or unavailable. This combination supports reconnaissance, infrastructure inspection, mapping, payload delivery and persistent tethered observation from a system designed for a single operator to deploy in the field.
