About

About Underwater GPS G2

Underwater GPS G2 is Water Linked's short-baseline acoustic positioning system for tracking one ROV, diver or other submerged object from the surface. A locator on the target transmits to a four-receiver antenna or distributed receiver baseline, while the topside computer combines acoustic time-of-flight with its GNSS position to produce live relative and global coordinates.

R100 and R300 versions cover cylindrical operating areas with 100 m or 300 m radius and depth. Water Linked specifies a 2–4 Hz position update rate, horizontal range accuracy below 0.2% and horizontal angular accuracy below 1 degree. The browser interface, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, NMEA 0183 and HTTP API support standalone operation or integration with an ROV control system.
