HII and MetalCraft Marine deliver ROMULUS-25 autonomous USV prototypes

HII and MetalCraft Marine delivered and sea-tested two ROMULUS-25 autonomous unmanned surface vessel prototypes for the U.S. Marine Corps under a DIU contract.

  • HII said the two ROMULUS-25 autonomous USVs were delivered in December 2025 and supported sea testing.
  • The vessels were awarded under a Defense Innovation Unit contract for smaller form-factor autonomous boat prototypes for the U.S. Marine Corps.
  • HII said ROMULUS-25 is powered by its Odyssey autonomy suite and is designed for up to 1,000 pounds of payload and up to 1,000 nautical miles of range.
