The ETH Zurich team behind Ascento published the mechanical design, control architecture and experimental validation of its compact wheeled-biped robot.

Ascento builds autonomous wheel-legged robots for outdoor security patrol and industrial-site inspection. Its Ascento Guard service combines all-terrain mobility, thermal and RGB sensing, autonomous charging, encrypted remote monitoring and integration with existing video-management systems. The company raised $4.3 million in 2023 and has deployments with security and industrial customers.
