KUKA adopts Accerion Triton as standard option for omniMove AGVs

May 3, 2021 · Partnership · Accerion · Localization

KUKA selected Accerion Triton floor-scanning localization as a standard option for KUKA omniMove automated guided vehicles.

  • Triton replaced optical line guidance for selected KUKA omniMove positioning applications.
  • KUKA cited Triton's maturity, robustness and ease of integration for AGV localization.
  • The partnership positioned Accerion as a mobile-robot positioning supplier to an established industrial-robot manufacturer.

Accerion develops infrastructure-free optical positioning sensors for automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Venlo, its downward-looking modules use natural floor features to measure displacement without tape, reflectors or external beacons. The Triton product targets sub-millimetre docking, virtual line following and high-precision navigation in manufacturing and logistics.
