Norwegian Sea Rescue selects IMAS for fleet-wide deployment
The Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue selected Hefring Marine’s IMAS system for rollout across its entire vessel fleet.
Evidence notes
- The fleet-wide selection followed a two-year competitive process and expanded a collaboration that began with an IMAS prototype in 2020.
- Eight rescue vessels were already using IMAS when the broader rollout was announced.
- Hefring said installation across the remaining fleet would take place during 2025 and 2026.
Company context
Hefring Marine develops onboard intelligence and fleet analytics that turn vessel sensor data into real-time guidance for safer, more efficient operation. Its platform models sea state, motion, speed, fuel use and crew exposure to support route and throttle decisions across workboats, patrol craft and other fleets. The Reykjavík company was selected for NATO DIANA’s 2026 programme as it expands decision support for demanding maritime operations.
