IMPLANET installed the 8i Robotics multi-arm surgical robot at Amiens-Picardie University Hospital for preclinical spine-surgery evaluation supporting European regulatory work.

  • The system was installed at the SimUSanté active-learning simulation centre within Amiens-Picardie University Hospital.
  • Hospital-university teams in the GRECO robotic-surgery research group will conduct preclinical evaluation.
  • IMPLANET said the programme supports the evidence and regulatory pathway required before European clinical use.

8i Robotics develops Optimus, a surgeon-supervised, three-arm robot for open and minimally invasive spine procedures. IMPLANET installed the system at Amiens-Picardie University Hospital for preclinical evaluation in July 2026. Regulatory submissions remain pending, and the device is not available for sale in Canada, the United States or Europe.
