Event
Tangent Robotics demonstrates autonomous visuotactile TR01 skills
Tangent Robotics demonstrated fully autonomous TR01 manipulation policies trained from teleoperated examples and using both vision and Popcorn touch data.
Evidence notes
- Each policy used 30 to 40 complete teleoperated demonstrations plus a similar number of error-correction examples.
- The fully autonomous dexterous manipulation demonstrations included container flipping, SD-card pickup, threading, unthreading and gear installation at normal playback speed.
- Container flipping and SD-card pickup reached 100% test success, while touch input improved harder tasks against vision-only baselines.
Company context
Tangent Robotics develops dexterous robot hands together with the control policies needed to use them. The New York company builds compact, tendon-driven hardware for manipulation research and industrial tasks, including two- and three-finger hand architectures designed for learned skills and in-hand control.
