Tangent Robotics details TR01 fingertip-tracking teleoperation

Mar 23, 2026 · Capability · Tangent Robotics · End Effectors

Tangent Robotics detailed the TR01 two-finger hand and a teleoperation stack designed to reproduce human fingertip positions for fine manipulation.

  • TR01 uses eight independently actuated finger degrees of freedom to span the full relative position and orientation space between its fingertips.
  • Magnetic trackers provide sub-millimetre fingertip measurements, while inverse kinematics coordinates the hand with a robot-arm controller.
  • Its fingertips combine a compliant 3D-printed TPU skeleton with moulded silicone surfaces for contact area and durability.

Tangent Robotics develops dexterous robot hands together with the control policies needed to use them. The New York company builds compact, tendon-driven hardware for manipulation research and industrial tasks, including two- and three-finger hand architectures designed for learned skills and in-hand control.
