Splash conducts unmanned U.S. Navy resupply missions at RIMPAC

Jul 22, 2026 · Deployment · Splash · Maritime

Splash used its Typhoon autonomous surface vessel for unmanned resupply missions during RIMPAC, delivering parts to USS Essex and USS Theodore Roosevelt.

  • The missions moved the 11-foot Typhoon into a major multinational naval exercise.
  • Splash is also preparing a larger Tempest vessel for U.S. Navy testing.
  • Tempest is expected to carry 1,500 lb over 300 nautical miles, but those figures describe a forthcoming system rather than the deployed Typhoon.

Splash builds autonomous patrol boats for national-security and critical-infrastructure protection. The company launched in February 2025 with a maritime autonomy focus around guarding infrastructure against surface threats.
