Hyundai E&C pilots tethered watering drone at demolition site
Hyundai Engineering & Construction completed an operating-site trial of a tethered watering drone at the Gwacheon Jugong 8/9 reconstruction project and plans wider demolition use.
Evidence notes
- The drone directs 50 litres of water per minute across a 12-to-15-metre radius to suppress dust in areas difficult or unsafe for workers and conventional equipment.
- A continuous power cable and water hose remove onboard battery-duration and tank-capacity limits while allowing operators to retarget the spray as demolition progresses.
- The same construction R&D programme includes wearable robots, material-transport robots, cleaning robots, Spot quadrupeds and autonomous drone stations.
