Aerones abandoned free-flying heavy-lift drones for tether-supported wind-turbine robots
Aerones began with ambitious heavy-lift and firefighting drone concepts, but found free-flying systems too imprecise and constrained for its target maintenance work. It rebuilt the business around ground winches, cables and robots supported against wind-turbine blades, making the current company a wind-maintenance robotics operator rather than a conventional drone manufacturer.
