Dextrous became insolvent before its DX-1 unloading system reached the customer deployments it was built for
Dextrous Robotics developed DX-1 as a bimanual manipulation system for unloading boxes from trucks. Founder Evan Drumwright said the company adopted an aggressive trajectory that its financing market did not support and became insolvent while two large logistics deployments were still being prepared. The demonstrated robot and planned deployments did not become a continuing commercial operation, and no deployed customer fleet survived the company wind-down.
