Photonfocus develops CMOS image sensors, OEM camera modules and industrial cameras for machine vision. Its portfolio covers high-dynamic-range, 3D triangulation, hyperspectral, SWIR, UV, line-scan and high-resolution imaging.
About
Photonfocus was founded in 2001 in Lachen, Switzerland, after work on digital global-shutter CMOS imaging and has been part of Atlas Copco since 2020. The company designs both cameras and selected proprietary sensors, using a modular architecture to configure standard and customer-specific imaging systems.
Its camera families address high-speed surface inspection, laser triangulation, spectroscopy, low-light scenes and imaging beyond the visible spectrum. Embedded processing and FPGA development allow some data reduction and analysis to happen inside the camera. Photonfocus therefore supplies a specialized perception layer for industrial inspection, measurement and robot-guidance systems.
