About

About Scout System

Scout System combined the Scout aircraft, rugged ScoutBase dock and ScoutView software into an unattended aerial-data service. The dock housed and charged the aircraft, processed data at the edge and transferred results to the cloud, allowing recurring inspection flights without an operator stationed at the site.

The FAA expanded American Robotics' authorization in 2022 from research and training to commercial automated BVLOS operations. Scout was offered through a robot-as-a-service model for rail, mining, oil and gas, agriculture and other distributed assets. American Robotics now markets Optimus as its current drone-in-a-box platform, so Scout is retained as a legacy commercial system.
