About SBG Ellipse-D

Ellipse-D combines a miniature inertial measurement unit with an internal dual-band, multi-constellation GNSS receiver and dual-antenna heading in a 46 × 45 × 32 mm, 65 g enclosure. SBG Systems publishes 0.1° roll-and-pitch accuracy and 0.2° heading accuracy, with RTK horizontal position specified at 1 cm plus 1 ppm. The receiver tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou signals and supports DGNSS, SBAS and RTK modes.

The module is intended for robots, autonomous vehicles, UAVs, hydrographic systems and mobile-mapping platforms where stable heading is needed even while stationary. Serial, CAN, synchronization and aiding interfaces allow integration with vehicle controllers and external sensors; odometer or DVL input can help bridge difficult GNSS environments. Ellipse-D has no Ethernet or onboard datalogger, distinguishing it from larger SBG units. Its IP68 enclosure and 5–36 VDC input suit embedded field installations, while final navigation performance remains dependent on antenna baseline, correction service, aiding sources, installation and local signal conditions.
