About

About Micro Radar Altimeter

Smartmicro Micro Radar Altimeter is a 24 GHz height-above-ground sensor for drones, helicopters and fixed- or rotary-wing aircraft. It measures from 0.5 to 500 m and remains independent of ambient light, supporting flight in fog, dust, darkness and changing terrain. The sensor accepts combined pitch and roll angles from -20° to +20° within its stated operating envelope.

The 350 g unit measures 99 × 110 × 29 mm including its 0.5 m cable and connector. It supports forward speeds of 75 or 100 m/s depending on firmware, vertical speed up to 50 m/s and updates within 17 ms. Height accuracy is 3% or 0.5 m, whichever is greater. CAN 2.0B and RS485 carry data, while the IP67 housing operates from 7 to 32 V DC and consumes about 3.7 W.
