About

About SOMANET Node

SOMANET Node is Synapticon's modular drive family for placing motion control close to the motor and reducing axis-level wiring to a central cabinet. The 400, 1000 and 2000 sizes share a 70 × 40 × 23 mm housing and 12–48 V nominal supply range. Their maximum peak outputs are 415 W, 1,040 W and 2,080 W respectively; continuous output depends on size and thermal integration, with the Node 2000 rated to 1,200 W continuous.

EtherCAT and CiA 402 support connect the drive to a real-time machine controller, while onboard voltage, current and temperature sensing supports commissioning and protection. Separate Node Safety variants add certified safe motion functions. The module closes motor-control loops for PMSM, synchronous AC and BLDC axes, but complete robot behaviour, functional-safety architecture and thermal performance depend on the surrounding motor, mechanics, control application and installation.
