Yamaha YK-XG medium-size SCARA robots cover 500 and 600 mm arm lengths across five configurations, from lighter-load YK500XGL and YK600XGL models to the 20 kg YK600XGH. Yamaha uses a beltless, directly coupled tip-rotation axis to reduce backlash, wear and belt-maintenance work while preserving high-speed motion. Resolver-based position detection is designed to tolerate contamination and electrical noise.
The family targets repetitive assembly, transfer and packaging cells where cycle time, rigidity and compact installation matter. The exact YK600XGH sheet specifies ±0.02 mm X/Y repeatability, a 0.47-second reference cycle at 2 kg, 600 mm arm length and the RCX340 controller; the other family configurations retain their own payload, reach and cycle specifications. Hollow-shaft and tool-flange choices help route end-effector services. Covers and grease points are arranged for service access, while delivered performance still depends on payload, inertia, stroke and motion profile.
