Kraken Technology Group raises $175M at $1B valuation

Kraken raised a $175 million Series B at $1 billion valuation, led by DTCP with participation from the British Business Bank, NATO Innovation Fund, Rheinmetall, and others. The British maritime-autonomy company develops autonomous surface vessels, strike platforms and electronic-warfare systems.

Capital will fund manufacturing buildouts in the UK, Germany and US, each designed for 1,000 platforms annual capacity. Rheinmetall is partnering on the K3 Scout USV production, while Anduril supports US manufacturing. Kraken secured a $49 million US Special Operations Command award.

RobotEra raises RMB1B with state-backed capital

RobotEra raised RMB1 billion (~$140M) led by China Chengtong Fund, with participation from state-backed investors including CICC Capital, Beijing AI Industry Investment Fund and Shanghai Guotou Leading Fund. The company has now raised RMB5 billion (~$700M) during 2026.

Founded 2023, RobotEra develops embodied foundation models, whole-body control and the humanoid platform. It operates across 10+ logistics centers including China Post and SF Express, with thousand-unit batch deliveries beginning Q2 2026.

Tashan Technology raises several-hundred-million-RMB Series B

Tashan completed a several-hundred-million-RMB Series B from financial and industrial investors including Joyson Electronics, Taiping Innovation and HongShan. Founded 2017, Tashan develops tactile-sensing chips and algorithms used in humanoid hands and robot bodies.

H1 2026 orders were already 4x full-year 2025 revenue. The company has 180+ customers and claims >80% share of tactile-sensor shipments into China's humanoid sector, with robot products expected to generate ~66% of 2026 revenue. Funding supports production capacity and tactile-data infrastructure.

Acquisitions and Strategic Moves

Maritime autonomy dominated the week's strategic activity.

Thales agreed to acquire Exail Technologies at €3.9 billion enterprise value, adding autonomous underwater and surface vessels, mine-countermeasure systems and maritime robotics. Lockheed Martin separately agreed to acquire Ultra Maritime from Advent International for $3.45 billion, adding sonar, torpedo defence and undersea communications. Fincantieri announced a €600 million acquisition package covering NextGeo (marine survey), WSense (underwater communications) and Graal Tech (underwater robotics), with an option to acquire majority control of autonomous surface-vessel developer Defcomm.

Outside maritime, Ondas completed its $875.8 million acquisition of DZYNE Technologies, adding long-endurance autonomous aircraft and counter-UAS systems. Caterpillar acquired Skycatch, adding drone-based spatial data and analytics for mining operations. Comau completed its acquisition of Invent Smart Intralogistics Solutions, adding AI-led warehouse orchestration and automated box handling.

IPO and Public Markets

Four robotics and autonomy companies listed in Hong Kong within 48 hours, raising approximately HK$9.67 billion, roughly $1.24 billion. Momenta (autonomous-driving software) raised HK$5.89 billion, roughly $755 million, and traded near offer price. EACON (autonomous mining) raised HK$2.3 billion, roughly $295 million, and closed 10% above issue price. Reconova Technologies (visual intelligence) raised HK$608 million, roughly $78 million. ROKAE Robotics (industrial robots) raised HK$875 million, roughly $112 million, and closed 15% above offer price.

Bloomberg reported at least 46 robotics-related companies in Hong Kong's IPO pipeline, with humanoid developers like Leju Robotics and Deep Robotics pursuing listings.
