FarmWise is building Vulcan into precision vegetable weeding

FarmWise launched Vulcan at World Ag Expo in Tulare, California on February 14, 2023. The implement was available for pre-order and named to the World Ag Expo 2023 Top-10 New Products list.
Vulcan is built for vegetable weeding, where the machine has to remove weeds between rows and within rows without damaging crop plants. FarmWise describes sub-inch precision, a lightweight open cultivator frame, and field visibility for growers who need to trust the tool in high-value crops.
FarmWise says Vulcan includes a teleoperations program for live performance monitoring and support. That support layer connects field runs to FarmWise technicians and fabricators, making service response part of the product rather than a separate afterthought.
FarmWise was founded by Sebastien Boyer and Thomas Palomares, and the company?s earlier service model gave it field experience before Vulcan shifted toward grower-owned equipment. The event is a productization step: turning lessons from robotic weeding services into an implement growers can purchase and operate.
The competitive field includes Carbon Robotics, Verdant Robotics, Naio Technologies, Ecorobotix, Blue River Technology, Stout Industrial Technology, and conventional cultivators. FarmWise?s distinction is precision mechanical weeding for vegetable crops, where chemical, labor, and crop-damage constraints overlap.
Public material does not show acres weeded per shift, support response time, downtime, service cost, repeat purchase rate by grower, price per implement, customer retention, false-positive rate, or current deployed fleet size. The proof is launch detail and technical approach rather than audited field economics.
Vulcan tests whether precision weeding can move from robotics service into farm equipment. If FarmWise can keep sub-inch weeding reliable under real crop variation, the company can position Vulcan as a labor-saving field implement rather than a robotics showcase.
