LimX Dynamics debuts Luna at Taobao Influencer Festival, its service-oriented humanoid counterpart to Oli
Built on the Oli architecture but redesigned for social and service environments, Luna uses LimX's COSA agentic operating system and a video-based imitation learning framework; the company debuted it at a mainstream Chinese consumer commerce event rather than a robotics conference.

LimX Dynamics unveiled Luna at the Taobao Influencer Festival on March 26, 2026, in a catwalk demonstration alongside Chinese actress Michelle Chen. The Shenzhen robotics company built Luna on the same general architecture as its existing Oli humanoid but redesigned it for service, performance, and social interaction rather than industrial environments.
The company
The company has maintained a distinct product strategy since its founding: building platforms that cover multiple mobility paradigms rather than committing to a single form factor. Its product history spans the CL-1 industrial robot, the TRON 1 wheel-legged hybrid priced at $15,000, and Oli, its full-size bipedal humanoid launched in August 2025 at $21,800 as a research and integration platform.
The platform fork
Oli is known for its metallic silver industrial finish and its capability to navigate construction debris and uneven terrain. Luna adopts a different aesthetic entirely, organic curved forms, a rounded head, and a silhouette designed for approachability rather than ruggedness. Luna is 165 centimetres tall and has 33 degrees of freedom, two more than Oli. Its sensor array includes dual Intel RealSense D435i depth cameras, RGB cameras, a six-axis IMU, and Visual SLAM-enabled LiDAR.
The fork is a deliberate product architecture decision. Industrial and service humanoids face different requirements at nearly every level: surface materials, interaction models, aesthetic expectations, safety priority, and the data pipelines that train their behaviours. Building Luna and Oli on the same underlying architecture allows LimX to share locomotion, balance control, and compute infrastructure while presenting different products to different buyer segments.
The operating system and motion learning
LimX launched COSA, its Cognitive OS of Agents, on January 12, 2026, ahead of Luna's debut. COSA integrates natural language understanding, semantic memory, and real-time whole-body motion control into a single agentic operating system designed for humanoids. The company demonstrated Oli equipped with COSA receiving a new instruction mid-task, pausing, integrating the update into its plan, and continuing, without requiring a restart or reprogramming.
Luna also runs VideoGenMotion, LimX's video-based imitation learning framework, which allows the robot to learn complex human movements directly from video input without manual programming. The framework enables faster behaviour prototyping by observing real-world human actions rather than requiring explicit task-by-task teleoperation data collection.
The Taobao context
At the Taobao festival, Luna performed a catwalk walk and executed an illusion turn, a gymnastics-style balance movement used to demonstrate joint coordination and motion fluidity. The robot shared the stage with Oli. The demonstration emphasised movement quality rather than task completion. Taobao's Influencer Festival is a mainstream Chinese social commerce event, not a robotics conference. LimX's presence there alongside influencers and a celebrity appearance is a deliberate consumer visibility play for the Chinese market.
Maturity
Luna is not yet available for purchase. Pre-orders are open through LimX distributors with delivery timelines tied to the company's production ramp. No pricing for Luna has been disclosed; Oli is priced from $21,800. COSA is a deployed operating system running on the Oli platform in live testing; Luna's COSA integration and VideoGenMotion performance in commercial environments have not been independently evaluated.
