Luxonis raises $14M to scale OAK cameras

The Series A will expand production and development of its edge-vision platform for robotics and industrial automation.

Luxonis has raised $14M Series A to scale its OAK camera platform for robotics and automation. The round was led by Denali Growth Partners, with participation from Taiwania Capital.

Luxonis builds OAK cameras and DepthAI software, combining stereo depth, onboard AI inference, edge vision hardware and developer tools for robotics, automation and industrial systems.

The company has been part of the robotics developer stack for years. Its first OAK-1 and OAK-D Kickstarter launched in 2020, was funded in 20 minutes, and raised $1.36M from more than 6,500 backers.

Luxonis says it now serves thousands of customers, including more than 60 Fortune 500 companies and 17 Dow Jones 30 companies.

Its OAK-D Lite follow-up raised $1M from 8,000 backers, and the OAK-D was later named a 2021 Edge AI and Vision Product of the Year winner.

Its current OAK 4 platform is positioned as a self-contained AI vision system with 52 TOPS of AI processing, stereo depth, onboard inference and remote management.

The new funding will support commercial expansion, product roadmap development and scaling production of the OAK camera platform.
