Agility opens Fremont physical AI facility
The 60,000-square-foot site adds software, testing and field-operations capacity alongside Digit manufacturing at RoboFab.
Agility Robotics is building out the physical AI infrastructure around Digit ahead of its planned public listing.
The company has opened a 60,000 sq ft Fremont facility focused on software, capability development, testing and field operations, complementing RoboFab in Oregon, where Digit is manufactured.
Agility plans nearly 200 hires across AI, software and field operations. The expansion comes as the company reports active deployments with GXO, Schaeffler, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and Mercado Libre, alongside more than $300 million in multi-year Digit v5 orders subject to contractual milestones.
Agility is preparing to merge with Churchill Capital Corp XI in a deal valuing it at $2.5 billion pre-money and expected to provide more than $620 million in gross proceeds, assuming no redemptions.
Agility is not alone in this expansion. Just over two weeks earlier, Apptronik unveiled its newly expanded, nearly 90,000 sq ft Austin Robot Park for humanoid training and real-world data collection in partnership with Google DeepMind.
Both moves signal that US humanoid companies are attempting to scale physical AI infrastructure and field operations in parallel.
