Machina enters JASSM qualification
A robot-formed assembly is moving into Lockheed Martin qualification, marking Machina’s first defence-missile production milestone.
Machina Labs has secured a qualification contract from Lockheed Martin for an assembly supporting the JASSM programme.
Its AI guided robotic cells form, weld and assemble complex metal structures directly from digital designs, reducing the need for dedicated dies, moulds and conventional tooling.
The company says the process can compress manufacturing timelines from months to days.
Now, for the first time, a structure produced in a Machina Labs factory is advancing into qualification for a defence missile system.
The Lockheed relationship has been developing for more than three years.
Lockheed Martin Ventures first invested in Machina Labs in 2023, when the company had raised $21.8 million in total. It later joined the company’s $124 million Series C in February 2026.
That financing is supporting Machina Factory 3, a planned 200,000 square foot facility with capacity for up to 50 RoboCraftsman cells and thousands of complex structural assemblies annually.
