Notch launches MAGIC software-defined metamaterial antennas for drones, vehicles and ground stations

May 18, 2026 · Product Launch · Notch · Electronics

  • Notch introduced MAGIC as a family of software-defined metamaterial antennas for drones, vehicles, ground stations and other wireless platforms.
  • The systems use electronically reconfigurable metamaterial structures to shape and steer RF energy across 360 degrees without moving parts.
  • MAGIC WIZARD targets ground stations, vehicles and fixed installations, while MAGIC ELF targets smaller unmanned aircraft with tighter size, weight and power constraints.
  • Both configurations are designed to work with existing radios and standard RF interfaces with minimal integration.

Notch develops software-defined RF metamaterials for electronically steerable antennas, sensing, navigation and adaptive RF systems. Its MAGIC Series turns antenna behavior into a software-controlled layer for drones, ground robots, vehicles, ground stations and other wireless platforms.
