Vanderlande is building FASTPICK into Lyko beauty fulfillment
A September 5, 2023 Lyko contract gives Vanderlande a beauty-commerce warehouse case with 216 ADAPTO shuttles, 152,000 product locations, and 45,000 daily orders.

Automation.com reported on September 5, 2023 that Lyko chose Vanderlande to automate a new warehouse in Vansbro, Sweden. Lyko needed more capacity for beauty ecommerce growth and European expansion, and the warehouse was scheduled to open in 2025 as the company's largest automation project to date.
The system is tailored to high-SKU beauty fulfillment. FASTPICK will use 216 ADAPTO shuttles accessing more than 152,000 product locations across 27 levels and 40 aisles, with capacity for 45,000 orders per day. The contract also includes 15 goods-to-person workstations, three robotic item-picking stations, and POSISORTER shipping sortation.
Beauty commerce is a demanding automation surface because the warehouse handles small items, fragile packaging, expensive products, promotional variation, and customer expectations shaped by fast consumer delivery. Vanderlande has to move perfume bottles, cosmetics, and related SKUs through storage, picking, and shipping without turning growth into a larger manual operation.
Vanderlande operates inside Toyota Industries and its warehouse-automation group. The company's FASTPICK portfolio combines ADAPTO storage, goods-to-person stations, item-picking robotics, sortation, software, and lifecycle support into one warehouse program. That makes Lyko a goods-to-person case rather than a sorter-only or shuttle-only installation.
The competitive field includes KNAPP, Dematic, Swisslog, TGW Logistics, SSI Schaefer, AutoStore integrators, Geekplus-style goods-to-person systems, and retailer-built warehouse automation. Vanderlande's distinction is the combination of ADAPTO shuttle storage, robotic picking, sortation, and Toyota-backed lifecycle support for high-SKU fulfillment.
The proof boundary is post-launch output. Public material does not disclose live order throughput at Vansbro, robotic pick success rate, ADAPTO uptime, breakage rate for fragile SKUs, labor hours saved, or how quickly Lyko reaches stable operation after commissioning.
If Vanderlande delivers beauty fulfillment at Lyko's projected order scale, FASTPICK becomes more than a dense storage system. It becomes a category-specific operating layer for retailers that need high SKU count, fragile-item handling, robotic assistance, and shipping speed in the same building.
